I am Sekitto  Herbert Grace Kisakye, a son of the late Godfrey Nsiiro and Naggayi Florence. I was born on 15TH /04/1978 in Kampala Uganda. I was born in a big family of more than twenty(20) children, and I am among the last three children of my Mother and ten children of my Father. I spent most of my childhood with my Auntie in her home where life was not so easy for me due to over working and financial hardship. At the age of  ten years i went back to my Father's home where I grew up in the hands of my stepmother who trained me several things of how to survive in the world. Therefore due to her encourangement and guidance, i learnt how to work as well as to read and write english. This assisted me to know how important it is for someone to be educated and hardworking.

 ABOUT MY COMMUNITY

After I saw a great suffering of Ugandan children especially the street children, the orphans and other children from poor families, I decided to initiate a voluntary work project in order to assist some of these needy chidren by providing them school requirements like books, sets, pencials , pens as well as other basic needs in life like blankets and clothes. I managed to get some assistance from the local churches and other good samaritans who would love to see that all chidren grow at peace.Even I have been struggling hard to see this work project going successfully but due to insufficient  funds, I have not achieved what I planned or I have not succeeded. I moved a step ahead in this work by using some little assistance I gathered from the local churches and good samaritans as I stated above. At the begining I registered more than one hundred orphans and children from poor families but we have managed so far to help only thirty of them who live with their relatives. The primary target is to have an orphanage home or school such that we can help all those who are on the streets. It's also unfortunate that the assistance we provide them is not enough due to problems like poor feeding, poor shelter, poor sanitation, poor education and poor health due to high levels of poverty and limited medical facilities due to increased diseases like malaria and cholera, especially in slum areas.

AIMS OF MY WORK(PROJECT)

1.Help the needy children to grow as better citizens by providing them with necessary guidance and counselling srvices of how they can survive in the world.

2.Develop the talents of the needy children by empowering them in games and sports, poetry, art and craft, as well as music, dance and dramma in order to become valuable and responsible citizens of Uganda.

3.Provision of education opportunities to the needy children by facilitating them especially from primary to secondary level so as to reduce on illiteracy  and unemployment levels in Uganda

4.Provision of other necessary basic needs to the needy children. These may include free clothes, blankets, mosquito nets, mattresses, food and medical so as to improve on their standards of living.

5.Advocate for the rights of the needy chidren especially girls whose rights are highly violated and many of them are still denied a chance of going to school with the belief that women contribute little to the social, economic, and political development.

6.Sensitisation of the masses through seminars and conferences about the disadvantages and negative impacts of child abuse on development.
